For the next ten years, I worked full-time as a graphic artist in the San Francisco bay area before moving to the Pacific Northwest and "retiring" from the graphic arts field. Returning to my love of drawing and painting, I worked out of my home as a freelance portrait artist and illustrator while raising my two children. More recently, I earned my diploma (dipSBA) from the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) in their Distance Learning Program.
Graphite pencil is one of my favorite mediums, and in 1992 I discovered the versatility of colored pencil which I enjoy equally as well. I have been portraying animals in pencil for over twenty years. With my life-long love of animals and drawing, creating pet portraits is a natural and rewarding pursuit!
